I just read a very troubling article in the 02/02/2010 edition of the New York Times. It is a cover story titled:"As Marines Move In, Taliban Fight a Shadowy War"
" by C.J. Chivers on page A1. Skip to page A9 for the most chilling part of the article; which describes how the Taliban "insurgents" are watching and charting our Marines every move in the Helmand area. When the fighting heats up they will be be adding their observances to our ridiculous rules of engagement, and our battle handcuffing by Obama, Holder, and other American leaders ( ? ) in Washington. SPECIAL NOTICE / NOVEMBER 14, 2009
While listening to a local newsradio
broadcast this afternoon, I heard an unbelievable news item at 2pm. The
newscaster stated that the Obama administration is blocking the results
of the lawsuit filed against the government of Lebanon for their bloody
involvement in the October 23, 1983 bombing of the Marine Corps
barracks in Beirut Lebanon. In other words, the families of the slain
and wounded Marines will get nothing...not even justice...from the pain
and sorrow imposed upon them by the fanatical jihadists and madmen in
the middle-east who hate America and it's military. Obviously the Obama
administration is on the side of the "bad guys" in the middle-east once
again. This is the ultimate in appeasement posturing. I suggest that
ALL United States Military personnel dig into this unsettling
announcement and draw your own conclusions as to whether our ertswhile "Commander
in Chief" has our military's best interests in his heart. First came the photo ops of him wearing a Marine Corps t-shirt while playing hoops, then the visits to Marine corps base camps to "support the troops" ( ??? ), and most recently his hand-wringing and dithering about whether or not to listen to General McQuarters troop requests. These are troubling times for not only the USMC and all of the US military surfaces, but also for our nation. Semper Fi!
