MAMBO ARTS TODAY is the culmination of over 45 years of experimentation in a wide variety of intellectual and physical activities by Herb April of Chicago, Illinois. Through continual educational advancement, physical culture mastery, optimal mind / body integration study, and award winning achievement in all of those endeavors, Herb April has finally developed a system of progressive personal evolution that integrates martial arts training, total body fitness training regimens, hand drumming,  dance training, philosophical studies, and, believe it or not, political discourse. I have chosen to name this holistic approach to personal evolvement MAMBO ARTS TODAY. As a contemporary "urban american patriot," Because my father instilled in me a unwavering respect for our armed forces that still burns brightly to this very day, I am obligated to support our troops around the world who so valiently protect our nation, it's mores, it's traditions, and it's values. These are troubling times for our great nation and our military services...WE MUST SUPPORT OUR COUNTRY AND OUR COUNTRY'S DEFENDERS. Note: I have been asked many times ( too many times in fact ) what Mambo Dancing has to do with martial arts, self-defense, patriotism, intellectual edification, and all the other things on this website. Here is a semi-cryptic answer for the interested-"Being able to smoothly move and groove in an opponents head on the street, in athletic competition, at work, and even while "kicking back," is an invaluable asset on the dance floor called life.

ADDENDUM 10/15/08-It is just a few short weeks before we will elect a new President of the United States. Make sure you get out and vote for the candidate of your choice. I won't try to tell you who to vote for, that is up to you, but I do hope that you will take some time to consider what path this country of ours will go down if we hand it over to someone who has wholeheartedly embraced left-wing / Marxist ideology, and who has designs on eventually banning ownership of ALL firearms by citizens...even upstanding, law-abiding citizens who only want to protect their families and loved ones. Those of you who have no problem with becoming a "cog in the wheel of shared prosperity," and having your constitutional right to bear arms stolen away by the socialists lurking in our political circles,...well, you folks will get what you truly deserve if you vote in the "Messiah." THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE!!!

ADDENDUM 10/19/08-Barack Obama once again let his socialist and marxist leanings come to the light of day when he blurted out the following lines to answer a question from Joe The Plumber" Wurzelbacher recently:

"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, its good for everybody."

Right! You might as well campaign wearing a Che Gueverra t-shirt Barack. I know you want my firearms, my ammo, my money, and my unwavering obedience, but you will never get anything, not even the thught of a presidential vote from me pal. To paraphrase the late Charleton Heston in response to Al Gore a few years back, "you can try to pry my firearms and my other constitutional rights out of my cold dead hands, Mr. Obama."

I know Obama is going to raise taxes to unbelievable heights, create more "entitlements," and ferment class warfare between the have-nots and the have-anythings, and pander to some of the worlds lowest of the low scumbag "leaders" both here in the USA and around the globe. If Obama wins, prepare for 4-8 years of tough times for those of us who love opportunity, freedom, and what America used to be for all of us.

What a choice we have...a flat out communist, and a man who walks, talks, and looks like the host for TALES FROM THE CRYPT. There is no way that those two are the besst that America can offer it's citizens. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum come to life. How sad!
